BNP -supported candidates in the upazila polls held on Wednesday in Hathazari andMirsarai upazila of Chittagong win massive victory .
Asstt Returning officer of Mirsaraiand Hathazari unofficially declared BNP supported candidate Nurul Amin and Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury elected as chairman of the respective upazila. Upazila Nirbahi officer and Asstt Returning officer Md. Asharaf Hossain said BNP candidate Nurul Amin in Mirsarari upazila bags 56,179 votes whereas the former UZ chairman and candidate duly supported by Awami League bags 42,953 votes.
The symbol of Nurul Amin was Pineapple. Meanwhile BNP candidate Mahbubul Alamchowdhury with symbol of tea Cup wins in Hathazari upazila who bags 51,144 votes and his nearest rival candidate of AL Abul Mansur bags 20,798 votes.
Former Minister and vice chairman of BNP Abdullah al Noman felicitated the voters of Mirsarai and Hathazari for casting votes infavour of the BNP supported candidates.
