Credible EC: BNP will present outline soon

The BNP will give a fresh proposal to the government to form a neutral Election Commission (EC), as the tenure of the current EC is ending next February.
“A neutral EC is a must for an acceptable, free and fair election,. To ensure an non partisan EC we will give the government a necessary proposal soon,” BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said it while addressing a discussion meeting at the National Press Club in the capital on Friday.
The BNP leader said, we want to ensure the people’s voting right. “For a representative Parliament, the voting right is a major factor. The government should constitute such an EC that will be acceptable to all,” he said.
Swadhinata Forum arranged the meeting to discuss about the historic 7th November.
Praising the 7th November’s movement of Army and civilians,
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said, “Before the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day of November 7, we had no clear nationality. Which we got after November revolution is now at a stake.”
Swadhinata Forum President and BNP central leader Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah presided over the programme. BNP Joint-Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, central leader Abdus Salam Azad and LDP Joint-Secretary General Shahadat Hossain Selim, among others, spoke.
