UNB, Dhaka :
BNP’s Dhaka city unit convener Mirza Abbas on Sunday said though they want to face Awami League in the field, the ruling party opts to resist them by law enforcers.
“Nasim (Health Minister) has announced to face us in the field. We too actually want to deal with them in the field. But they want to tackle us by police and Rab,” he said.
Abbas, also a BNP standing committee member, came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting of the Dhaka city unit BNP’ s convening committee at BNP’s
Nayapaltan central office. Earlier addressing a programme in the city, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said BNP has issued a movement threat sitting in the AC room as it has no capacity to wage a movement. “You have to come out in the filed if you want the movement.”
Reacting to the minister’s remarks, Abbas said the ruling party leaders want to foil the movement from the AC room by the law enforcers. “They don’t take to the field.”
The city BNP chief urged the ruling party to face them in the field without the help of the law enforcers. He also suggested the ruling party hold two separate public meetings on the same to assess the popularity of the two parties.
Abbas rejected the media reports about the conflict among the Dhaka city unit BNP leaders, saying they are working together to strengthen the unit.
He also said they will form all the committees and subcommittees in time.
About the meeting, the BNP leader said they discussed their next course of action and activities of the unit.
