Xi Jinping's visit: BNP wants something extraordinary

The BNP wants the government to secure national interests in signing deals with China during the Chinese President’s two days official visit to Bangladesh beginning this (Friday) morning.
 “We welcome the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Bangladesh. We want our government will keep our national interest secure when they reach any accord with that
country,” said BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy.
The BNP leader said this while addressing a post reception programme on Durga Puja at a city restaurant on Thursday.
Gayeshwar said his party is optimistic about good things during the Chinese President’s visit. But he said, others countries comparatively keep their interest better than Bangladesh during bilateral deals with our country.
 “We are in dark about what will deals and accords are going to be inked with China during the visit of the Chinese President. We want that everything should be for the interests of the people of both the countries,” he said.
He said, “Mega projects mean huge income for those who are involved with the projects. But the amount of loans of the countrymen increased. We want to end the situation.”
Replying to a question, Gayeshwar said BNP will not stay idle if the government continued to suppress us. The party will give them appropriate answers.
The Hindu religious leaders attended the programme.
BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, among others, were present in the programme.
