BNP chairperson’s adviser Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Friday said the budget for fiscal year 2014-15 placed by an ‘illegal regime’ will not be acceptable to people.
He was addressing a roundtable discussion titled ‘The new government of Narendra Modi: How should be Bangladesh-India ties’ arranged by Nagorik Forum at the Jatiya Press Club.
The BNP chairperson’s adviser was critical of the immediate past Indian Congress-led government for what he said backing an unelected government in Bangladesh.
“A quarter of the Congress government supported the unelected government in Bangladesh and used it. A democratic country like India should not have such policy towards its close neighbour,” he observed.
Mentioning that Narendra Modi government came to power with a big mandate through a fair election, Amir Khashru said they believe that the new Indian government will shift from Congress government’s stance about the current illegal regime in Bangladesh.
