BNP vows to free Khaleda ahead of founding anniv

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday said that the party would keep its movement uninterrupted vowing to restore democracy amid fair national election in the country and to get the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia released from jail.
He said it to the reporters after placing floral wreaths at the BNP’s Founding President Ziaur Rahman’s graveyard in the city’s Sher-e-Banglanagar on the occasion of the party’s 41st founding anniversary on Sunday (September 1).
“The movement for restoring democracy and release of Khaleda Zia will be accelerated at any cost in future,” BNP Secretary General said.
Alleging that BNP leaders and activists across the country are being barred from celebrating the founding anniversary, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Those who stole freedom of speech with the formation of BAKSAL are now trying to annihilate political opposition.”
He said, Khaleda Zia has been illegally imprisoned, “Her imprisonment exposes that democracy is being strangulated.”
“The government wants to block constructive politics and opinions using coercive power and engineering conspiracies.
