Terming BNP’s boycotting the general election in 2014 a wrong political decision, Awami League Presidium Member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim urged BNP to take part in next Jatiya Sangsad polls.
“Next Jatiya Sangsad polls will be held under the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina . . . so I would like to request BNP not to take any wrong decision and take part in the next polls,” he said this on Wednesday while speaking at an iftar mahfil organized by Ganatantrik Party at Purana Paltan here.
Referring to different development activities of the present government, Nasim, also the spokesman of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance, hoped that people would cast their votes in favour of Awami League in the next polls as it had done tremendous development in different sectors including power.
On BNP Chairperson Begum Zia’s health condition, the minister said, “We are also anxious about the health condition of BNP chairperson. I want to assure them that the highest treatment facilities are being provided to her and there is no question of negligence of her treatment.”
Noting that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) is the well-equipped and highest seat of treatment, the AL leader said, “We couldn’t understand why the BNP is opposing it.”
