Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has termed BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia as ‘leader of terror and her party BNP a terrorist outfit’. Necessary steps will be taken against the BNP chief and her party for the terrorist activities, he said.
The minister said these in a press briefing at the PID Conference Room in the Secretariat in the city on Monday. “Being failure in the politics, Khaleda Zia is now trying to make her party a terrorist outfit. Necessary steps will be taken in this regard when she will return home.
If it is needed, legal action will be taken against the BNP”.
The press briefing was arranged in response to a recent statement of BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed. In the statement, he held the government responsible for the ‘rise of terrorism and militancy’ in the country and asked the government to unite all political parties to face the terrorism and the militancy.
Hasanul Haq Inu rejected Moudud’s statement, saying that the BNP is involved with terrorism and the party is tied in relation with the militant force. Khaleda Zia is the main patron of militant organisation Jamaat-e-Islami. So, it is impossible to forge unity with the terrorist outfit and patron of the militancy, he said.
