BNP Sylhet-1 candidate Inam meets detained activists

Bangladesh Nationalist Party nominated Sylhet-1 constituency aspirant and former bureaucrat Inam Ahmed Chowdhury on Saturday met the party’s detained activists at Sylhet Central Jail.
Inam talked with detained leaders and activists including district BNP general secretary Ali Ahmed, city unit BNP vice-president Abul Kashem, and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal district president Suman Ahmed.
Mentioning more than 100 leaders and activists of the party were detained in Sylhet Jail ahead of the looming parliamentary polls, he told journalists that Bangladesh had become a prison.
Inam Ahmed also urged jail authorities not to violate human rights.
District unit BNP vice-president Abdul Fattah Bakshi, organising secretary Emran Ahmad Chowdhury, city unit organising secretary Mifta Siddiqui, and joint-general secretary, among others, accompanied Inam Ahmed during the visit.
