BNP stages demo protesting raid on Khaleda’s office

The leaders of JatiyatabadiSwechchasebak Dal, youth wing of BNP, on Sunday demonstrated at Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, protesting the raid on its chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office.
As a part of party’s central programme, a procession led by Swechchasebak Dal district president Abdur Rahman Bablu, marched through several important roads of the area starting from Kuturia bus stoppage yesterday morning, witnesses said.
During the rally, the leaders strongly condemned and protested the raid at their chairperson’s office and said that the government is conspiring to create fear among the BNP leaders and activists by operating such a raid.
Earlier on Saturday, police conducted a raid on Khaleda Zia’s office, following a search warrant issued by a court, to find out whether there is any anti-state document in there.
Later, BNP announced to stage demonstrations across the country protesting the police raid.
Mohammad Nazmul Hossain, former joint secretary of Swechchasebak Dal, Shariful Alam, Zillur Rahman, president and secretary of Ashulia unit respectively, general secretary of Savar unit Imtiaz Ahmed Shaheen, general secretary of Dhamrai unit Al Mamun Firoz and vice-president of Dhaka unit Tofazzal Hossain spoke at the programme, among others.
