The BNP has spent more than Tk 11 million than its annual income in 2021 as per the party’s financial statement submitted to the commission (EC) on Thursday.
BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi submitted the party’s financial statement of 2021 to the EC.
According to the statement, the expenditure of the party exceeded their annual income in the year.
It showed that BNP’s expenditure in 2021 was over Tk 11.4 million higher than their income.
As per the statement, the party’s income was Tk 8,412,444 in 2021 from different sources, including monthly fees of its leaders and activists, Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR), nomination form fees and donations.
It also showed that the party spent Tk 19,847,171 against the income, in different sectors including salary and bonus to the employees, office costs and cost for supplementary publication, which was Tk 11,434,727 higher than the income.
According to the party’s financial statement, its annual earning has been decreased by Tk 38,41,819 in 2021 comparing with the previous year.
Meanwhile, its expenditures has been increased by Tk 23,94,671 in this year.
