UNB, Dhaka :
BNP on Tuesday alleged that a ruling party-backed business syndicate is making quick buck by raising the prices of essentials ahead of Ramzan as the government has failed to control the market.
“The government has failed to bring the prices of the essentials under control. The prices of all the commodities are going up every day ahead of the fasting month. A business
syndicate belonging to the ruling party is hiking the prices,” said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. The BNP leader came up with allegation while distributing cooked foods in front of Ovishar movie house in the city’s Hatkhola area. Dhaka city unit BNP arranged the programme marking party founder Ziaur Rahman’s 35th death anniversary.
He said people are going through a suffocating situation for lack of democracy in the country.
