Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud on Monday said BNP should not do politics over the Rohingya people who are coming to Bangladesh due to violence in Rakhine state, Myanmar.
“Those, who have killed innocent people by exploding petrol bombs and carrying out arson attacks, should not shed crocodile tears for Rohingya people”, he said while addressing a memorial meeting on Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Abdur Jabbar at Sagar-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) at Segunbagicha here.
Jatiya Gonotantrik Dal organised the meeting with its president MA Jalil in the chair.
Hasan said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia could rush to Teknaf to stand by the persecuted Rohingya people who entered Bangladesh territory crossing the Naf River, but she is now busy in holding meetings with Pakistani spy agency ISI. He said world leaders and international forums lauded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she stood beside Rohingya refugees. Historian Siraj Uddin Ahmed and AL leader MA Karim addressed the meeting, among others.
