The BNP on Friday announced to hold demonstrations in all thanas in Dhaka city on Sunday demanding unconditional release of its imprisoned chairperson Khaleda Zia and her proper medical treatment.
“The party will stage the demonstration as Dhaka Metropolitan Police did not give permission to hold rally on Saturday in front of the party central office at Nayapaltan,” BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said this at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
On Thursday, BNP deferred its Thursday’s protest rally in Dhaka city to Saturday following denial of permission from the DMP.
Earlier on Monday, the party announced countrywide protest rally, including Dhaka city, for Thursday for unjustly detaining of Khaleda in jail.
Rezvi told the briefing that they do not see the present atmosphere of the country to hold polls in a free and fare manner.
He said BNP would not go to the next polls without freeing the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.
The party also said that it has been witnessing conspiracy over the next national polls.
Rezvi also indicated that, “National election under Sheikh Hasina and security of innocent animal under wolf is the same thing.”
