UNB, Dhaka :
Welcoming Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s Bangladesh visit, BNP on Wednesday hoped that her visit would create a new scope for resolving the outstanding problems with the neighboring country.
“Sushma Swaraj is a seasoned politician who has been made Indian External Affairs Minister after BJP formed the government through a landslide victory in a democratic election in their country. She is coming to Bangladesh and we
welcome her visit,” said BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The BNP spokesman came up with the remarks while talking to reporters at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office before starting his journey for Feni to distribute relief materials and Iftar items among the destitute and flood-hit people in BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s home constituency on behalf of her.
Fakhrul said, the BJP government is trying to intensify India ties with its neighboring countries, including the SAARC ones, with a new approach.
“We hope the new Indian government will take steps to reinforce ties between Bangladesh and India and resolve the outstanding problems, including border killing and water of the common rivers, as per the hope and aspirations of the people of Bangladesh,” he said.
