Staff Reporter :The BNP has sought permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold their rallies January 3 and 5 at any of the three venues at Suhrawardy Udyan, Motijheel Shapla Chattar and in front of BNP’s Naya Paltan office.Abdul Latif Jony, an Assistant Office Secretary of the BNP, told The New Nation: “We have sent two separate letters to the DMP and PWD authorities, seeking their permission in this connection.” “In our letter, we have named Suhrawardy Udyan, Motijheel Shapla Chattar and in front of the BNP’s Naya Paltan office.”Earlier, the BNP-led 20-party alliance planned to hold public rallies on January 2 and 5 to mount pressure on the government to hold national election under a non-partisan government.
