BNP ready for talks: Fakhrul

Staff Reporter :Hitting back at the ruling party leaders’ effort to secure the government’s legitimacy from BNP through talks, the party spokesman Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said that they were ready for talks with the present government, though it is illegal, for an early national election through an understanding. “The ruling party leaders are looking for the government’s legitimacy through talks. It has proved that the government is illegal. Still we are willing to sit with this administration to resolve the ongoing political crisis in the interest of the country and democracy,” he said.Fakhrul, the BNP Acting Secretary General, was addressing a discussion at the National Press Club arranged by National Peoples Party (NPP) to condemn the continued killings, enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
