Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) plans to hold a public rally in the capital on Thursday, September 27 release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail and holding the next general election under a non-party neutral administration.
The party’s senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme from a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office yesterday.
“We will hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan or at Paltan, near our office, on Thursday. We have completed all formalities regarding the permission
 for the venue,” he said.
In reply to a question, Rizvi said the current political issues would be highlighted in the rally.
BNP held a public meeting at Nayapaltan in front of the party’s central office on September 1 marking the party’s 40th founding anniversary.
The declaration of the rally comes after BNP’s participation in the Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya programme, last Saturday at Gulistan.
