BNP on Tuesday showed last respect to its former Feni-3 constituency MP, M Mosharraf Hossain, by placing wreaths on his coffin draped with the party flag in the city.
The coffin containing the mortal remains of Mosharraf was taken to BNP’s Nayapaltan central office around 10:30am. Party leaders and activists draped it with the party flag as a mark of respect to the late leader.
Later, senior leaders, led by party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir placed wreaths on the coffin.
Mosharraf, also an adviser to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, passed away at a city hospital on Monday evening at the age of 74.
The first namaz-e-janaza for the ex-MP was held in front of the BNP office.
Fakhrul, BNP standing committee members MK Anwar, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, chairperson adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu and BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, among others, joined the janaza.
Later, his second janaza was held at the South Plaza of the Parliament around 11am.
Chief Whip ASM Firoz, AL leaders Shamsul Haq Tuku, Joynal Hazari, BNP leaders Abdul Moyeen Khan, Abdul Awal Mintoo, Osman Farroque, Barkatullah Bulu, Zainul Abedin Farroque, Shahidduddin Chowdhury Anee and some government officials, among others, joined it.
Later, deputy speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah on behalf of Speaker and ASM Firoz on behalf of the Parliament paid homage to the ex-MP by placing wreaths respectively.
Later, his body was flown to Mosharraf’s village home at Sonagazi in Feni. His third janaza was held at local Pilot High School ground after Zohr prayer.
