Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary of the ruling Awami League Dr Hasan ahmud said that BNP has opted for clandestine murders to create an abnormal situation in the country in its bid to force the government to sit for a dialogue.
“Failing to create an abnormal situation across the country unleashing a reign of terror for over three months from January 5 through killing of innocent people, setting them on fire by patrol bombs (fire bombs), they (BNP-Jamaat combine) have chosen the path of clandestine murders of foreigners and writers of free thinking and publishers,” he said.
He said this on Monday while speaking at a discussion as the chief guest in the city, Dr Hasan Mahmud also turned down BNP’s dialogue offer saying: Dialogue can never be held between the government and a terrorist-militant clique like BNP-Jamaat.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organised the discussion at Shilpakala Academy auditorium marking the Shaheed Nur Hossain Day with its general secretary Arun Sarker Rana in the chair.
