UNB, Dhaka :
The BNP-led 20-party alliance has rescheduled its two public rallies to be addressed by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to mobilise public support in favour of their demand for a fresh election under a non-party administration.
The BNP chief’s Brahmanbaria rally will be held on Tuesday instead of Monday, said a BNP press release on Thursday. It, however, said the rally venue and its scheduled time will remain unchanged.
Khaleda Zia’s Jamalpur rally has been shifted to September 27 from September 25, her media
wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB.
The 20-party alliance will organise the two rallies demanding the government hold a fresh election under a non-party government, stop extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and repressive acts, and revoke the National Broadcast Policy and 16th amendment to the constitution.
In Jamalpur, the former prime minister will also meet the recent flood victims and distribute relief materials among them.
