BNP leader’s son held with patrol bomb in Muladi

Son of BNP leader was detained after patrol bomb found in shop at Ekota Bazaar under Muladi upazila of Barisal on Tuesday morning.
Md. Alauddin, Muladi police station officer- in -charge, said on basis of the secret information about suppling patrol-bombs to BNP leaders for acting sabotage police raided the shop of Sultan Fakir, ward BNP president of ward-9 at Kazirchar union, in Ekota Bazaar area of Muladi.
From there police found two patrol bombs and detained Sumon Fakir, 29, son of Sultan Fakir at about 9:30 AM Tuesday.
The recovered two bombs preserved safely for dismantle and the detained Sumon Fakir would sent to the police station for interrogation, the OC Muladi PS told.
On other hand, blockade passing loosely without hampering daily life in Barisal on Tuesday.
Transactions in financial institutions, market, attendances in educational institutions, judicial, administrative offices were less than normal days in Barisal.
BNP activists brought out stray procession and picketing calling to make blockade successful at C and B, Nabagram Road, and Jamaat-Shibir activists at Kawnia and Kashipur areas of the city on Tuesday early hours and morning.
However except these incidents the Twenty-first-day of the nationwide indefinite blockade called by BNP-led 20-party alliance, observed loosely and peacefully in Barisal without hampering daily life.
Road and water transportations on short and internal routes functioned with less numbers of transports and passengers on Tuesday.
Limited number of road transports on long routes operated on Tuesday with few passengers due to country-wide 36-hour strike, Aftab Hossain, President of Bus Owners Association and City Sramik League, informed.
