Eight residences of top level leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, including residence of late standing committee members Tariqul Islam and district unit office of the party came under series attack between 1am and 3pm on Sunday, BNP and the police said.
Aninda Islam Amit, assistant orgranising secretary, central unit, BNP, said that eight residences of top level BNP leaders including residences of former Minister and standing committee member of the party, Tariqul Islam, Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, member-secretary, district unit BNP, its leader Delwar Hossain Khokon, Golam Reza Dulua and Munir Ahmed Siddiqui were attacked during 1am and 3am on Sunday.
`The miscreants also attacked the district unit office of the party wounding three electioneering activists, who were taking preparation for the Jashore sadar upazila by-polls which was held on October 20,’ he added,’ we informed it to the police and the district administration.’
Professor Nargis Begum, wife of the former minister, is the party’s district unit convener.
Moniruzzaman, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station told that they were informed that glasses of residences of some BNP leaders were damaged and stones were pelted.
‘We’ll take action after having complaints’, he added.
