Police arrested Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker, president of Narayanganj BNP and chairman of Jatiya Badhir Sangstha, from the city’s Bijoynagar area on Monday evening.
A team of Paltan Police Station picked up
Taimur from his Jatiya Badhir Sangstha office at Meheraba Plaza at about 6pm, said Deputy Commissioner (Motijheel) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ashrafuzzaman.
He said, the BNP leader was arrested in a case filed with the police station.
Syed Ruhul Abedin, a trader, filed the case against several persons, including Advocate Taimur on September 11.
According to the case statement, the trader had filed a case with the higher court to get back his portions he took lease on the basement of the Jatiya Badhir Sangstha Bhaban, and hanged a notice in this regard.
However, the accused tore the notice and threw his valuables of his office on September 11.
