A Dhaka court yesterday (Tuesday) placed BNP Joint Secretary General Mohammad Shahjahan and five others on remand for different periods.
Magistrate Rezaul Karim of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court (CMM) of Dhaka passed order of remand in a case filed with Gulshan Police Station of the capital under the Explosive Substances Act.
The court placed Shahjahan and BNP Assistant Office Secretary Shamimur Rahman Sham on remand for two days. Besides, the party’s Assistant Information and Research Secretary Habibur Rahman Habib, central members Belal Ahmad, Monirul Haque and Ahsan Habib were placed on police remand for four days, each.
Investigation Officer of the case Sub-inspector Md Bari produced the six BNP leaders to the court with ten days’ remand plea for each. The police arrested them from different places of the capital on Monday.
