BNP leader and President of Swadhinata Forum Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah has been arrested. Police picked up him from Dhanmondi-15 bus stand on Wednesday noon, said his family members.
After arrest, he was taken to Dhanmondi Thana, but police did not make it clear under which case the BNP leader had been arrested.
Officer-in-Charge of Dhanmondi Thana on Wednesday evening told
The New Nation, “Though we have arrested him, he has not been shown arrested in any particular case. We will inquire of whether he is involved with any violence or there is any case against him.”
Meanwhile, police raided the residence of Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel, former President of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), at East Razabazar in the city during the early hours of Wednesday. Jewel was not staying in his residence at that time.
