A local BNP leader was hacked to death by a group of miscreants over previous enmity at Railjagannathpur village in Alamdanga upazila on Saturday morning.
Shawkat Ali Faraji, 57, son of late Nawaz Ali Faraji, president of ward no. 6 of Kalidaspur union parishad unit of BNP, had a longstanding dispute with the neighbours, said officer-in-charge Akram Hossain of Alamdanga Police Station.
In the latest incident of the dispute, a group of miscreants hacked Shawkat indiscriminately while he was working at
his maize field around 11 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body around 3 pm and sent it to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
