A BNP leader was chopped to death by miscreants in east Madarbari area under Sadar Thana in the port city yesterday. The deceased was identified as Jane Alam, 40, Majhirghat BNP unit Vice President, son of late Abdul Aziz. Sources said that noticing an injured person lying inside a local club, locals rushed him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared him dead. Confirming the matter, Police Constable Salauddin of CMCH police camp told that , the body bore several stab injury marks”.
