People from different strata mainly local politicians have protested the recently formed 75-member proposed committee of Awami Lague (AL)of Noakhali district unit as so far 30 men from BNP, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dail (JSD), Freedom Party, and government job holder, banker, businessmen, were enlisted in the committee.
Some non-politicians, alleged relatives of Jamaat and war criminals were also got some posts in the district unit committee of AL.
The district AL President A H M Khairul Anam Choudhury and General Secretary Ekramul Karim Choudhury MP have recently formulated the proposedcommittee for the final approval.
Many local dedicated leaders and eminent personalities have raised their voice against the so called ‘pocket committee’ of the historical AL party under the supervision of the AL high-command. They raised their voice on social media, including Facebook, Blogs, and Twitters against the committee.
Noakhali Municipal Mayor and District AL General Secretary expected candidateShahidullah Khan Sohel said that some members of the proposed committee were not seen neither in the political filed nor the party respective offices since 2008. Shamsuddin Selim, former Organizing Secretary of AL district unit, said that a vested quarter made the conspiracy to weak the organizing power of the party in the arena by including men of BNP-Jamaat and some others parties as well as non-politicians, including government job holder and banker.
