Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday said the BNP is now divided into different factions for lack of leadership.
“Who is the leader of BNP? Who is the leader of their movement? There is no democracy in their party (BNP), they (BNP leaders) are divided into different factions today,” he said.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, made the remarks while speaking at the triennial conference of the AL’s Naogaon district unit, joining virtually from his official residence .
He said if the BNP assumes the state power, the country’s all development and achievements will be damaged while its democracy and spirit of the independence will be destroyed, reports BSS.
The AL must be protected to save Bangladesh’s democracy, Quader said, adding that the Awami League is an organisation of the country’s soil and people and it is not an inferior party at all.
Noting that now Bangladesh is not a state of beggars, he said the country today is a wonder of the world due to its development and achievements occurred under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
