‘BNP is black chapter in country’s history’

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hassan said BNP is a black chapter in the history of Bangladesh, terming the party a dustbin of the history.
“If we want to take the country to the stage of peace, development and democracy freeing it from communalism and inequality, this enemy must be destroyed,” he said this recently while speaking at a meeting of Pogaldigha Union Parishad Awami League at Boyra Israel Ahmed High School auditorium at Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur.
Speaking as the chief guest, Murad said: “We could not walk on the path of democracy with the BNP, the dustbin of history.
The conspiracy of (BNP chairperson) Khaleda Zia is still going on. We will not allow any killer to be halal (to get a place) in the politics of Bangladesh”. To continue the progress of the country, everyone must remain united with the spirit of patriotism, he said, adding “We should be proud of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s courage for financing in the Padma Bridge Project”.
The state minister said Ziaur Rahman, the military ruler and the killer of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, had introduced the politics of forced disappearance and killing in the country.
Sarishabari upazila AL President Alhaj Chanwar Hossain Badsha, its General Secretary Harun Ur Rashid, Organising Secretary Rafiqul Islam, Pogaldigha Union Parishad Chairman Sams Uddin Sams, municipality AL President Mizanur Rahman, district AL Deputy Office Secretary Zahurul Islam Manik , Water Affairs Secretary of the central Awami Swechchhasebak League Mahbubur Rahman and municipality mayor Monir Uddin, among others, were present at the meeting.
Pogaldigha Union AL Acting President AKM Fazlul Haque presided over the meeting, while its Acting General Secretary Abdul Alim moderated it. Narayan Chandra Pal Rana, coordinator of Pogaldigha Union AL, was the keynote speaker at the meeting.
