BNP has formally invited Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to join the inaugural function of its month-long programmes to celebrate the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.
Two senior BNP leaders handed over the invitation to Awami League central executive committee member ABM Rezaul Kabir Kawsar visiting the AL president’s Dhanmondi office in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
The two leaders were Bijon Kanti Sarker, advisor of the party’s chairperson
and member of the BNP’s central committee for celebration of the golden jubilee of independence; and Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, the party’s publicity secretary, and the member secretary of publicity sub-committee of the celebration committee.
Confirming the matter, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said the inaugural session of BNP’s golden jubilee programmes will be held at Lakeshore Hotel in the city on March 1.
