The BNP on Friday brought out a procession in the capital demanding new election cancelling the December 30 polls.
The party’s Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi led the processi on starting from the Dainik Bangla intersection to reach Naya Paltan through Fakirerpool traffic point.
Leaders and activists of the party joined the procession, chanted slogans, demanded fresh election and called for release of the party Chief Begum Khaleda Zia from jail.
The party leaders said that the election was full of irregularities. They also stated that the government jailed the party chairman in false and fabricated cases.
The party has rejected the results of the 11th Parliamentary election held on December 30.
