A BNP team, on behalf of party chairperson Khaleda Zia, on Friday distributed relief materials among the
flood-hit people at Fulgazi upazila in Feni.
BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan along with former MP Rehana Akhter Ranu and local BNP leaders distributed the relief materials among around 850 flood victims.
Talking to UNB, Ranu said they, on behalf
of Khaleda Zia, distributed relief among flood victims at Fulgazi Pilot High School ground in the afternoon. She said they provided over 850 flood victims with rice, pulse, oil, potato, salt and saris as relief. Ranu said the BNP chief sent them also to assess the flood situation in the upazila.
She said they asked the local BNP leaders and activists to stand beside the flood-hit people with necessary relief materials.
While distributing the relief materials, Nazrul Islam Khan said the current regime which usurped power undemocratically is repressing BNP leaders and activists and plundering public money, reports UNB Feni correspondent. He urged people from all walks of life to get united to save the country and its people from the misrule of the Awami League-led government. Feni district BNP acting president Abu Thaer, former BNP MP Joynal Abedin VP, Fulgazi upazila BNP president Shahjahan Majumder, Pashuram upazila BNP general secretary Abu Taleb, district Jubo dal leader Ziauddin Dalim and Jasimuddin were, among others, present.
