Upazila electioneering: BNP demands release of arrested leaders , cautioned against rigging in 2nd round of UZ polls

Activists and leaders of BNP and front organizations holding press conference at the party office and forming human chain in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall on Sunday demanded release of arrested leaders and cautioned against rigging in second round of Upazila poll.
Advocate Mojibor Rahman Sarwar, city BNP president and central organizing secretary, in the press conference told ruling AL planning to control the vote centers for rigging with the help of EC and administration after recognizing their failure to gain public support.
In the first round of election in two upazilas of Barisal district less than five percent votes were cast by voters and after boycotting of BNP candidates, AL cadres openly stamped on the ballot papers in front of election officials and law enforcers, Sarwar alleged by quoting documents of journalists.
We several times alleged against the violation of election conduct rule and representation of public order by the AL backed Sadar upazila candidate Saidur Rahman Rintu to EC. But did not heard and took action against single allegations, Sarwar told.
Administration also playing biased role by arresting only BNP activists and leaders, Sarwar added.
Demanded immediate release of the arrested BNP leaders and activists cautioned that if the ruling AL will try to win in the Sadar upazila nparishad election by rigging with the help of EC and administration, then strong movement in protest of that would be started, BNP leaderincluding Sarwar cautioned.
The proramees also addressed among others by Ebaedul Haque Chan, Abul Kalam Shahin, district BNP president and secretary, Enayet Hosen
Bachchu, BNP backed Sadar upazila candidate, Shahed Akand Samrat, Zia Uddin Sikdar, Hafiz Ahmed Bablu, Al Amin, leaders of BNP and front organizations.
