BNP Chairman candidate of No.13 Noapara Union Parishad under Raozan Upazila of chittagong Haji Md.Jasimuddin has boycotted election following the threats of the supporters of the ruling party .
He announced boycotting election one day before of the scheduled polling date of yesterday. The elections of 12 Ups was held yesterday . A party press release sources s aid Jasimuddin filed nominations for chairman post taking high life risk and sensing the insecurity of life by the cadre bahini of the ruling lawmaker , I decided to refrain from the election .
He also termed the torture of the present ruling party more than the pak occupation forces, sources added.The chairman candidate Jasimuddin also informed the matter of life threat, harassment to election commission, officer in-charge of Raozan thana, Upazila returning officer in writing and verbally but no preventives given to him, press release said. Mentionable that 11 chairman candidates belong to BNP withdraw from election following the false and fabricated cases filed against them , sources said.
