Staff Reporter :The BNP is blaming the ruling Awami League (AL) for growing militancy in the country. “There is sadly no improvement in the behaviour and conversations of the leaders of the AL,” said BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi while addressing a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan office on Sunday.Rizvi said, Awami League rears militancy and extremism in politics for political gain. The government wants nothing but to destroy BNP in the name of eliminating militancy. “It (government) aims at maintaining power by any means, no matter what happens to the country’s economy”, he alleged. The country’s Muslim community celebrated the Eid with fear and frustration due to the Gulshan and Sholakiacarnage unleashed by the misguided youths.”The ruling party is implementing their agendas ignoring the welfare of the people and demand for a free and fair national election. They continually play blame game with extremism. The government craves to keep the militancy issue unresolved, so that the nation does not bring their (government) resignation issue to book,” he said.BNP Joint-Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, central leader Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu, Abdus Salam Azad, Aminul Islam and Juba Dal leader Gias Uddin Mamun, among others, were present.
