BNP aspirants in fight for seats with JOF

Two alliance partners also in brawl among each other Allies demanded 100 but BNP considers 60 seats

BNP nomination aspirants in the 11th Parliament election are in fight with its two alliance partners to secure their constituencies.
The two alliances have demanded about 100 seats. But the BNP is ready to share 50 to 60 seats.
Leaders from the BNP and the two alliances said, the seat sharing compromise is continuing. It will be finalized within two days.
In these circumstances, BNP nomination seekers are sweaing as they have a chance to contest in polls after a long time.
Those BNP aspirants are in most unease condition in which constituencies the heavy weight leaders of Jatiya Oikyafront (JOF) are also seeking.
Besides, the alliance partners also in brawl with each other over seat sharing. When contacted, BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy told The New Nation, “It is not unusual that the political leaders fight for securing their own constituencies. But it also true that the politicians can sacrifice for the sake of democracy and for their nation.”
He said, the leaders of BNP are ready to sacrifice their own interest for greater interest.  
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rab told The New Nation, “Seat sharing negotiation is on. It will be finalized within two days.”
BNP Joint-Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal told The New Nation, “Contest for every seat is usual. The competitor may be from own parties or from the alliance partners. The top leaders judge the matter with the probability of winning.”
He said the aspirants from party and alliances are ready to sacrifice their personal interest for greater interest. All of us are ready to sacrifice for our ultimate victory.
Sources said, Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Abdul Quader Siddique want to contest from Tangail-8 Constituency.
But BNP Vice-Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan is also a candidate there.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rab wants to contest from Luxmipur-4. BNP’s former MP central leader Ashraf Uddin Nijan is a vital candidate for the seat.
Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna wants to contest from Bagura-2 constituency. BNP leader and 2008 polls contester Hafizur Rahman also wants nomination.
Gono Forum General Secretary Mostafa Mohsin Montu wants to contest from Dhaka-2 or Dhaka-3 constituencies. BNP’s heavy weight candidates its Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Chairperson’s Advisory Council Member Aman Ullah Aman is apparently confirmed to contest the two constituencies.
The BNP is trying to convince Montu to contest from Dhaka-7. BNP’s late leader Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu was elected from the constituency.
JOF leader, DUCSU’s former VP Sultan Mohammad Mansur wants to contest from Moulavibazar-2.
BNP’s former MP MM Shahin left the party and joined Juktafront only this seat feud.
Nagorik Oikya Adviser SM Akram wants to contest from Narayangonj-5, but BNP’s for times MP Abul Kalam Azad are also insisting to get nomination.
JSD General Secretary Abdul Malek Ratan wants to contest from Cumilla-4.
But the local BNP leaders are insisting to get Cumilla North District unit President Manjurul Ahsan Munshi as party nominee. Munshi was former four times MP in the Constituency.
Besides, Gono Forum Executive President Advocate Subrato Chowdhury wants to contest from Chattogram-14 constituency.
But BNP-led 20 party alliance leader Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Colonel (rtd) Oli Ahmed is determined to contest from the said seat.
Jamaat is insisting to contest from its jailed leader Delawar Hossain Sayeedi’s Pirojpur-1 constituency for his son Shamim Sayeedi. But the alliance partner Jatiya Party (Zafar) Secretary General Mostafa Jamal Haidar also insisting the seat.
