Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) suspended 10 police personnel on Tuesday on charges of taking bribe from cop members for helping them in promotion.
An order in this regard reached at BMP on June 27 from Police Headquarters, sources said.
Immediately after getting the allegation, BMP Commissioner Shaibal Kanti Chowdhury formed a 3-member probe committee, led by Deputy Commissioner Shoeb Ahmed.
The suspended men are ASI Anisuzzaman, ASI Monir Hossain, ASI, Hanif, Nayek Md Kabir Hossain,
driver Shahidul Islam, constable Bablu Zamaddar, Arifur Rahman,Taposh Kumar Mondal, Dolan Boral and Ration Store Keeper Md Abbas Uddin,
BMP sources said, the cops were suspended following allegations of taking Tk 30,000 to 50,000 as bribes.
