Bangladesh Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) on Monday underscored the need for exploring the business and investment opportunities in Bangladesh.
The chamber made the call at a seminar on “Business and Investment Opportunities in Bangladesh” at BMCCI office premises in the city, said a press release.
BMCCI accompanied with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) organized the seminar.
Acting High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh Amir Farid Abu Hassan delivered the welcome speech while Director of Oil, Gas, Chemicals and Energy Section of MATRADE Jai Shankar made the opening remarks.
BMCCI President Syed Moazzam Hossain presented a paper on “Overview of Bangladesh Market Landscape”.
In his speech, Amir Farid Abu Hassan emphasized on developing bi-lateral trade between two brotherly countries.
Syed Moazzam Hossain highlighted the present scenario of business and investment in Bangladesh.
He urged Malaysian investors and businessmen to invest in the emerging economy of Bangladesh.
Among others, Secretary and Director (Investment Research and Economic Observatory) of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Sumon Chowdhury and Secretary General of the Bangladesh Chemical Importers and Merchants Association Abul Kalam Azad also delivered speeches.
An eight member delegation from MATRADE, BMCCI members, members of Bangladesh Chemical Importers and Merchants Association, officials from High Commission of Malaysia, business leaders, and journalists took part in the seminar.
