Bangladesh Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) on Tuesday called for ensuring a gender equivalent world through providing all facilities to all.
The chamber made the call at a progrmme on “Empowered Wanita- Celebration for Women in Lead”, marking the International Women’s Day, at its office in the city, said a press release.
Malaysia’s Acting High Commissioner to Bangladesh Amir Farid Dato’ Abu Hasan, spouse of the acting high commissioner Nordiana Bin Zawawi and BMCCI President Raquib Mohammad Fakhrul, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Amir Farid bin Abu Hasan briefly illustrated the progress of empowerment of women in Bangladesh, Malaysia and around the globe.
He emphasised on the gender equality campaigns which are bringing together people of every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country, to drive actions and those will create the gender-equal world.
Nordiana Bin Zawawi said international Women’s Day is a time to celebrate and reflect on the progress made and also recommit addressing persistent barriers to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
