An 18 year old boy was admitted to a hospital in Bhairab port town of Kishoreganj with injuries apparently caused while playing online game Blue Whale challenge on Saturday evening.
The victim Md. Ruman Miah and H.S.C student of Bhairab Z-Rahman Premier College and son of Md. Khokon Miah of Kalipur village in Bhairab Upazila is now undergoing treatment at Abedin (Private) Hospital.
Locals and physicians also said that the teenager might have been suffering from depression and in fine need of counseling.
Blue Whale the online challenge game, involves performing a number of tasks which have to be completed by the player in 50 days and the final tasks of the game is to commit suicide.
According to Ruman’s family, the boy was addicted to online games for the past few months. Ruman used to play games whole night on his mobile phone and go to bed at dawn, said mother of the boy.
His relative Kauser said that he has a circle of friends and they are addicted to online gaming.
Later, Ruman was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
