A blood donation camp was held on the Central Shaheed Minar premises of Jahangirngar University campus on Thursday, marking the National Mourning Day and the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the students’ front of the ruling Awami League, of the university unit organised the campaign.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam inaugurated the camp as the chief guest.
Addressing the programme, JU VC Farzana said, “One’s blood can safe another’s life. So, we need to encourage everyone to donate blood”.
Pro VC Abul Hossain, JU BCL President Jewel Rana and Secretary SM Abu Sufian Chanchal spoke at the programme, among others.
