Blockade hits CU academic activities

The academic activities of Chittagong University have been devastated due to BNP- led alliance called countrywide blockade programme.
 The schedule of holding examination and class has been hampered as the transport movement is not operating as usual.
The opposition party BNP has called indefinite period country wide siege programme in protest of the confinement of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia and of the bar of holding procession on January 5.
Earlier, a section of Chhatra League of CU Unit after a gun fight with CFC Group, another BCL faction called siege program, which was later called off, demanding their return to the dormitory from where they were evicted while Taposh Sarkar was gunned down.
BCL’s VX Group sources said, they will resume the siege programme immediately as the authority failed to meet their six point demand.
Meanwhile, the appearance of the students at the university was very poor though shuttle train operation was operating usually.
Sahidur Rahman, a third-year student of Communication and Journalism Department told this correspondent that the academic class was not held as they feared to attend the class amid country wide siege programme.
