Bangladesh Awami League General Secretary and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said, Awami League was there and will always remain with the people of this region in their every crisis. BNP was always doing politics for power. That’s why they are not here beside the people even in this coldest month of the country. Rather, they are just complaining and complaining, sitting in Dhaka.
He was speaking as Chief Guest at the blanket distribution ceremony organised by Saidpur Upazila Awami League at the Five-star Ground in Saidpur Upazila on Saturday.
Among others , State Minister for Relief and Disaster Dr Enamur Rahman, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Joint General Secretary of Awami League Bahauddin Nasim, Khulna Divisional Organising Secretary ABM Mozammel Haque, Women Member of Parliament (Reserve Seat)Rabeya Alim, Abu Said Al Mamun, former MP Dalia, Dr. Rokeya Sultana, Nilphamari District President Dewan Kamal Ahmed, General Secretary Mumtazul Haque, Upazila President Akhtar Hossain Badal, General Secretary Mohsinul Haque Mohsin and Acting President Rafiqul Islam Babu were present.
Bagerhat Correspondent says: Blankets were distributed among 2500 cold -stricken and destitute people of Bagerhat Pourashava on behalf of Shaikh Sarhan Naser Tonmoy, MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2 and grand nephew of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibor Rahman in a function held in the Poursahava Auditorium with Khan Habibur Rahman, Mayor of the Pourashava and Joint Secretary of Bagehat district Awami League chaired the programme on Sunday morning. The blankets were purchased and distributed from the own fund of Sheikh Tonmoy. S M Kamal Hossain, newly elected Organizing Secretary of the central committee of Bangladesh Awami League ceremonially distributed the blankets among the destitute people as the chief guest while freedom fighter Shaikh Kamruzzaman Tuku, General Secretary of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Awami League and Chairman of Bagerhat Zila Parishad was present in the function as the special guest. Shaikh Bashirul Islam, President of Bagerhat Poura Awami Legume, Ibne Mizan Hiru, General Secretary of Bagerhat Poura Awami League, Firozul Islam, APS of MP Shsikh Helal Uddin and others were present in the occasion.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Rangpur Unit of Ex-DU (Dhaka University) Forum jointly with Sahebganj Student Welfare Council distributed winter clothes among 300 cold-hit distressed people in a function held at Sahebganj Bazar in the city on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Md. Asib Ahsan distributed 300 blankets and other winter clothes in the function after a discussion meeting held there as the chief guest.
Additional District Magistrate of Rangpur Md. Arafat Rahman and Assistant Director at Rangpur office of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Md. Altaf Hossain attended the function as special guests.
Appreciating members of Rangpur unit of Ex-DU Forum for distribution of warm clothes among the cold-stricken people, the chief guest urged different organisations to stand beside the cold-hit people along with government efforts to mitigate their sufferings.
