Blankets distributed among cold-stricken people

Blankets were distributed among 250 cold and helpless people in Juri Upazila with the help of Bashundhara Group and organised by the Daily Kaler Kantha Shubhsanghar ,Juri Upazila Branch on Saturday.
Chairman of the Upazila Parishad MA Moeed Farooq addressed the distribution of winter clothes at Juri Model High School premises under the chairmanship of Sitangshu Shekhar Das, Headmaster of the school and Amjad Hossain, Vice-President of Shubhsangha Juri Branch.
Special guests were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ratan Kumar Adhikari, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Rinku Ranjan Das, Shubhsangh Central Director Zakaria Zaman, Shubhsangh Central General Secretary Shamim Al Mamun, Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee President Tajul Islam Tara, eminent social worker Apurba Kanti Dhar and others.
Among the members of Shubhsangha present at the time were central members of Shubhsangh Takbir Hossain Manna, Sharif Mahdi Ashraf, Co-Organizing Secretary Sakibul Islam Shuvo, President of Kulaura Shubhsangh Md. Zahirul Islam, Organizing Secretary Tanjida Akter Sebin, Jury Shubhsangh Member Mridul Ghosh, Liton Chakraborty, Samrat Masum, Mustafiz, Jayanti, Supriya, Aymon, Mukta, Asif Prom.
MA Moeed Faruk, Chairman, Juri Upazila Parishad, who was the chief guest at the event, said, “I have seen in the media that Bashundhara Group is distributing winter clothes in different parts of the country through their organization Dainik Kaler Kantha Shubhsangha. Today 250 people of my upazila were given blankets. People no longer have to suffer, at least in the winter. On behalf of Juri Upazila Parishad, I applaud Bashundhara for such humanitarian activities.
People from remote areas were very happy to get the blanket provided by Bashundhara Group. They all said, open hearted prayers for the owner of Bashundhara, he has thought of ordinary people like us this winter. May he always be good, may God bless him. After receiving the blanket, Fatema Begum (55) and Rupia Begum (45) of the municipal area said, We are living in a very difficult situation. Husbands are driving rickshaws to support their families. Can’t afford winter blankets. It has been very cold for a few days now. By getting this winter garment given by Bashundhara, now I will get some protection from the severe hardships of winter.

Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent: adds: In Ishwardi, blankets were distributed among the helpless and uprooted people on the initiative of Juba League leader Touhiduzzaman Dolan Biswas. The blankets were distributed on Sunday (January 18) afternoon at the Akbar intersection on College Road in the city.
Touhiduzzaman Dolan Biswas, chairman of Biswas Foundation, a prominent social worker and joint convener of the Corona Prevention Committee, said that the winter has intensified in Ishwardi since last Saturday. The helpless people of the area were suffering due to the severe winter and cold winds. In this situation, I have taken the initiative to distribute this blanket under the direction of my father, heroic freedom fighter Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas MP. “Even in the Corona situation, we have provided food aid to the unemployed,” he said.
His wife Nahida Muntasir, former student league leader of Ishwardi Government College Mizan Malitha, Juba League leader Kamal Biswas, Jasim Biswas and others were present at the time.
