Blankets were distributed among the helpless and miserable people in front of Tarash Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Sunday. Tarash Upazila Teachers and Employees Co-operative Credit Union Limited distributed winter clothes (blankets) among 200 helpless and destitute people.
Also present on the occasion were DM Mamunur Rashid of Upazila Teachers Employees Co-operative Credit Union Limited, President Lecturer Jalal Uddin, Vice President Ayubur Rahman Rajan, General Secretary Sirajul Haque Siraj, Member Laila Anjuman Khalil, Laboni Parveen and others.
Bagerhat Correspondent reports: Under the auspices of Bagerhat Press Club blankets were distributed among the clod stricken 20 local hawkers of newspapers in a simple ceremony at Press Club Auditorium on Saturday.
At that time its President Nihar Ranjan Saha, General Secretary Al-haj Abdul Baki Talukdar, Treasurer Molla Masudul Haq, former Presidents Sheikh Ahsanul Karim Karim and Md. Delwar Hossain of Bagerhat Press Club and some others were present on the occasion.
Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent says: At the initiative of Natore District Awami League Health and Population Affairs Secretary and Chairman of the Baraigram Upazila Parishad Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman Patwari blankets were distributed blankets among thousands of people, suffering from cold on Sunday.
Some 500 people were given blankets in the Upazila Parishad Auditorium under the chairmanship of Manjhgaon UP Chairman Lecturer Md. Abdul Alim and on the same day, 500 blankets in the Joari Union Parishad of the Upazila under the chairmanship of UP Chairman Chand Mamud.
Upazila chairman Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman Patwari said, “Blankets were distributed in Majhgaon and Joari Unions of the upazila on Sunday. Later, blankets will be distributed in the remaining 5 unions in phases. “
Anwar Hossain Dulal, joint general secretary of Upazila Awami League, Abul Kalam Azad, former joint general secretary of Awami League in Bonpara Pouroshava, Abdus Sobahan Pramanik, senior Awami League leader, Atiqur Rahman, Awami League leader were present during the distribution of blankets. Leaders and activists of different levels of Chhatra League, Awami League, Juba League were present.
Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent adds: Winter clothes have been distributed in Ishwardi on the initiative of Awami League central leader Jalal Uddin Tuhin on Saturday. The winter clothes were distributed among 1,200 helpless and distressed people at various places including Charmirkamari Paschimpara and Charmirkamari Center Para in Salimpur Union of Ishwardi, his birthplace.
During the distribution of winter clothes, Jalal Uddin Tuhin, a member of Awami League’s Industry and Trade Sub-Committee and Central Finance Secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad, said the inhuman suffering of the people are going through in the severity of winter is unacceptable. Now he is standing by their side with love and sympathy on the instructions of Hon’ble Prime Minister and Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina and on the advice of Hon’ble Member of Parliament for Pabna 4 constituency, heroic freedom fighter Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas.
