Under the auspices of Bagerhat District Unit of the Institution of Diploma Engineers’ of Bangladesh blankets were distributed among more than 200 cold stricken poor, destitute people and children of Bagerhat Town in a simple ceremony held in the local Officers’ Club auditorium with its (IDEB) President Khodokar Abdus Salam in the chair on Sunday morning. Adv. Alhaj Mir Shawkat Ali Badsha, former MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2 and a member of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Awami League distributed the blankets as the chief guest.
On the occasion the function was addressed among others by Engineer M A Rahman, General Secretary of Bagerhat district unit of IDEB, S M Shamsur Rahman, Office Secretary of Bagerhat Press Club, Molla Abdur Rab, member of the same club, Engineer Md. Al-Amin, Md. Humayun Kabir, Md. Joynul Abedin, an official of Anjuman Mufidul Islam, Bagerhat and Md. AhsanulAlam, Office Secretary of the same organization.
