BKSP v Dhaka finale set to conclude return of U-18 Football

Holders Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) will square off with Dhaka District in the final of the Walton U-18 National Football Championship at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today (Thursday).
The match will kick-off at 4 pm. State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will be the chief guest for the title-deciding match.
In a pre-match press conference at BFF house on Wednesday, BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy expressed his satisfaction at the resumption of the tournament after a gap of 10 years and looked forward to a successful conclusion through Thursday’s finale.
BFF vice president and tournament committee chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed Mahi, BFF member Fazlur Rahman Babul, FM Iqbal Bin Anwar of Walton Group, as well as managers, captains and coaches of the finalists also spoke on the occasion.
The BFF officials informed that some 40-50 players had been initially picked through the tournament by the federation’s development and technical committee for intensive training.
BKSP coach Paritosh Dewan said, “We will play for the title, although we have all respect for Dhaka.”
His captain Swapan Kumar also expressed similar sentiments and emphasized playing ‘good football’ on the part of the defending champions.
The Dhaka team ‘s coach Abul Hossain and captain Rakibul Islam both said they would be looking to win playing good football that does the talking, rather than their voice.
The champions will get prize money worth Tk 100,000 while the runners-up are in for Tk 50,000.
