Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) clinched the top slot in the Walton Air Conditioner 30th National Junior (Age Group) Athletics Championship securing 16 gold, nine silver and two bronze medals that concluded at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Khulna DSA finished distant 2nd collecting five gold, six silver and four bronze medals, Narayanganj DSA became 3rd with three gold and one bronze, Narail DSA was placed 4th bagging two gold, five silver and three bronzes while Noakhali DSA finished 5th position with two gold, two silver and seven bronzes.
The two-day national junior athletics competition featured two new national records in boys long jump and boys 100 meter sprint.
Ibad Ali of Khulna DSA made national mark in long jump covering height of 6.79 meters while Ashrafuzzaman of BKSP created national record in the hot event 100-meter sprint with a timing of 10.70 seconds to be the fastest boy of the meet.
Some 400 promising athletes from 30 teams from across the country took part in the two-day meet.
